A Life Of Obedience



There is something remarkable about salespersons that is going to help us in this article. Every good salesperson has a quality embedded him that enables him to touch the heart of his customers upon his approach. He is able to study every new costumer and know how to convince them that their product is worth of buying.

 As believers, we are not salespersons, but we ought to have certain qualities in us that will enable us to prove to God that we are worth of His goodness. Being in a relationship with God calls for a thorough study of Him. We need to study God and His ways so we will be equipped with the ability to know how to touch His heart.

 Apparently, there is no amount of work that we will do that will ever equate God's goodness or love for us. However, the Bible gives us an "easy" way of reaching out to God's heart. 
 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15:22

God delights more in obedience than our sacrifice. Sacrifices are external performances we do, and most of them are our duty to do anyway. Most of us our sacrifices to God is for people to see us so as to receive their praise. So obedience is the only virtue that has the effect of reaching God's heart.

Why is obedience important to God?

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
John 14:15

Our obedience to God proves our love for Him. And I'm talking about genuine obedience from the heart. There are factors that can make us obedient: fear and love. We are obedient to our bosses by making sure we report to work on time and do whatever that is required of us. That obedience is out of fear of losing our job. But our obedience to God is not and shouldn't be out of fear but love. 

Jesus said that if we love Him then will we obey His word. Failing to obey God shows that there is no love in us for Him. Love is the foundation of our conducts. Now that we have become children of God who is love, everything we do should be based on love. Our genuine love for God will enable us to live a holy and acceptable life unto God. Our love to God also shows our faithfulness to Him (1 John 2:3-6), and glorifies Him in the world (1 Peter 2:12).

Obedience to God opens avenues of blessings

We will find the blessings of obedience astounding when we grasp an understanding of it. Obedience is the key to God's heart. Having that key will open great and many doors of blessings to us. David was a man after God's own heart because of his obedience to God. He wasn't perfect but lived a life of total surrender unto God. In this, David obtained favor in God's sight and it opened many avenues of blessings for him. 

When we obey God, it moves Him to release for us something that a person has been praying for in years. Yes! Obedience surpasses prayer. Obedience propels God to act fast. God can't look away from the obedience of His children. He is compelled to do something whenever we obey. Obedience is able to take us directly into the throne room of God.

Are All Dreams From God?

In one of my posts do you dream? , we saw that God is the source of our dreams. He uses dreams as a medium of communication to reveal things to us. However, not all dreams are from God. What I mean is that not all of our dreams are inspired by God. Shocking but it's the truth. And as Jesus said it's our knowledge of the truth that will set us free (John 8:32). Covid19: A judgement from God?

In times like these, the only thing we should be spreading around is a message of hope. I'm here by the grace of God, to share with you a vision I received from the Lord on March 11th, 2020. In the vision, I saw chaos in the world. People were panicking and screaming as they ran around. All of a sudden, the sky changed and a powdered substance which consisted of different colors, spread across the globe in a rapid motion. As I kept looking, I saw two people flying in the sky towards the substance that was spreading over the globe. The faster they flew towards the substance, the faster it spread. I could hear the two screaming with a voice of HOPE that they got everything under control so everyone should stay calm and not panic. These two beings stretched out their hands and something went forth from their hand.  As soon as it mixed with the substance (with different colors) it was as though neutralization had taken place as it turned into water and hit the ground.
