Saved By Grace

The concept of salvation has been an ongoing debate among the major religious groups. Each group has their own belief of how a person can be saved and thus promote it. Misunderstanding of how one is saved is causing a lot of people to struggle in their salvation. Howbeit, Christianity among the rest of the religions, points to a different belief on the notion of salvation. So the key on how to be saved is well thought and explained in the Bible, which lifts weights of our shoulders.

How can we obtained salvation?

I strongly believe that our salvation has to depend on the one who calls for us to be saved.

For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8

Regardless of the beliefs of the worldly religions, no one can ever save himself. Salvation is obtained only by the grace of God through our faith in Christ Jesus. The Bible says that there's none righteous, no, not one (Romans 3:10). Salvation is the gift of God.

Grace might be a complex word to define because of its multifaceted, but it can be simply defined as an undeserved favor. Grace is the total package of what God has done for us in Christ. It is the demonstration of God's love to us and His forgiveness of our sins (Romans 5:8). Once again it's God's gift to mankind. We can't work for it.

We try hard to do good works thinking that they can attain for us a right standing with God. We need to understand that the thing we want to be saved from is not something to be taken lightly. Sin is very dangerous which leads to death (Romans 6:23). Its stain is unwashable by any human capability. When you get stained by sin, there's no amount of work you can do to wash it off.

It is only in Christ Jesus are we saved; and the stain of our sins are washed by His precious blood.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1-2

By grace, we've now obtained justification and peace with God through the finished work of Jesus. So we can now come boldly into the throne room of grace; having a right standing with God. This enables us to do good. Our good works, therefore, are not to achieve for us salvation. We must do good because good deeds have been embedded in our nature.
